Sahara (2005)
This film's production values (including acting, chase scenes and explosions) are fine and even exciting. I really like McConaughey's, Macy's, Zahn's and Cruz's characters. It's a tense film, if you get into the story. However, we found ourselves constantly sputtering at the unbelievable plot twists -- fun as they were. This is an Indiana Jones wannabe, but cannado. And don't say "McConaughey fans will love this" or "Cruz fans will love this" because that implies there's nothing else good in this film except for actor aficionados who will watch paint dry so long as Cruz painted it. You will like this movie, unless you don't enjoy your IQ being tweaked now and then. Most people give it four stars but I barely gave it three, because "the acting and the suspense were good" cannot be counterbalanced by "but the plot sure was confusing and unbelievable, not to mention the ending, for which I could care less." Three stars.
